Consumer drivers and behaviors influence trends and design movements, often colliding with essential needs. Over the past year we’ve adapted to new routines, reprioritized activities, and reexamined space and experience. These shifts have highlighted the impact of drivers within design—including our desire to connect with others and with our surroundings.

A Jersey girl living in SoCal, Jaime collects milk cartons and chunky necklaces and lusts over one day owning a Gaetano Pesce Up5 Chair. She has been noted as an expert on design trends, speaks on design, blogging and social media, and does some consulting on the side. In her free time, she likes to make art.



Shannon has been with Shaw for 16 years, most recently as vice president of Patcraft Creative + Design, and brings with her two decades of flooring expertise and product innovation. She works closely with the product development team, marketing and manufacturing for the design and launch process of broadloom, tile and hard surface collections. Shannon is a leading expert in color and trend research and how to translate them to commercial flooring product. She is involved in Shaw’s Women’s Innovation Network as a community leader, and is committed to extending the influence of women in positions of leadership in STEM careers.


Jennifer provides strategic solutions rooted in the cross section of insights, innovation and behavior. With a mix of quantitative, qualitative and design-thinking expertise, she has devoted her career to understanding what drives consumer behavior. Prior to joining WGSN, Jennifer consulted Fortune 500 companies, pairing bio-sensory measurements with qualitative interviews to garner an understanding of consumers’ reactions to product concepts and marketing. She also designed and led L’Oréal’s research and innovation sprints, driving a culture of creativity and curiosity to bring successful disruptive products to market.


Jenna is passionate and opinionated about all things design, from the choice of flatware for a meal, to the feelings a work of art or an overall space can evoke in a person. She aims to incorporate all of the senses when creating spaces for living, working, and being. After spending time working under a few different creative powerhouses, Jenna started her eponymous design studio in 2016. Jenna finds creative inspiration for her projects in all design realms, from tattoos to paintings. In her free time, she likes to obsess over new tech, get emotional with music, practice reiki, peruse museums, travel and enjoy great food.

Kassie Hammerschmidt

Kassie Hammerschmidt is a Designer at Boulder Associates Architects. With 5 years of healthcare design experience, Kassie strives to utilize the constantly evolving technology within both the design and healthcare sectors to give each client the space they need to provide excellent care. She has worked with national healthcare providers, as well as local non-profits on a variety of outpatient project types. Kassie is passionate about evolving mental health services in her community, and creating healing spaces for Southern California’s most vulnerable populations.

Frederick Allen Hiser

Frederick Allen Hiser

Fred’s professional career has included the architectural and interior design of published and award-winning projects throughout Baltimore and across the United States. He has experience in commercial, retail, hospitality, and institutional projects. Fred is employed by Whitman Requardt & Associates, a 105-year-old Baltimore-based architecture and engineering firm, as a Vice President.

Alexis Hudson

Alexis Hudson

Alexis currently has 4 years of interior design experience in both renovation and new construction projects for government and private-sector clients alike. She likes to focus her time on space planning, construction documents, finishes and furnishings specifications for projects with budgets ranging from $5,000 to more than $3 million. Many of the projects have included custom-designed products.


Anna McBroom

Pursuing Interior Design, Anna is able to live her passion for historic buildings, helping to breathe new life into them. As a part of the team at Gardner Architects, her skills are challenged daily to turn problems into design solutions that are both appealing and functional. Anna also shares her passion for design at her alma mater, Oklahoma Christian University, by teaching adjunct classes.

Sumrien Ali JLL

Sumrien Ali

Sumrien is an architect with 20+ years experience in hospitality, corporate office and healthcare. After completing her Masters in Real Estate Finance and Development from Georgetown in 2016, she is working with Kaiser Permanente in the Capitol Strategic Project, Planning and Design as a design manager.

Lyuba Tartova

Lyuba has a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Interior Design. She is currently an interior designer at SmithGroup. Her focus has been Workplace, although she does enjoy dipping her toes in other areas of design whenever an opportunity presents itself.

Kelsey completed her Bachelors of Interior Design, with a minor in Architecture at the University of Idaho. She has experience predominantly in Workplace and is currently working at STUDIOS Architecture, as a designer.

Lauren Gillaspey

Lauren Gillaspey

Lauren is a strong Designer with a background in award-winning tech and professional services workplace projects, as well as hospitality. Designing, from test fits and on, is like a puzzle, and Lauren is able to solve problems through her ability to envision space in three dimensions. Her solutions challenge perceptions and extend beyond simply making floor plates work. She is incredibly passionate about how interiors can impact how people interact with a space.

In her current position at Northern Virginia Community College, Jill has discovered the joy of designing spaces that encourage students to learn and she understands what a client wants when they cannot fully express it themselves. Working in the facilities department at NOVA, she has become proficient in total project management, creating budgets, schedules, scope of work and bid documents, working with multiple contactors and providing day-to-day communication with the project team.

Meg Fogel 1 Profile

Meg Fogel

Meg is a Senior Designer within the Workplace studio in Gensler’s Atlanta office. She is involved in all aspects of design on her projects: from conceptual to the full detailed development of design, she translates programming data into space planning and schematic studies, explores design concepts and then develops them in detail. She ultimately owns the fidelity of the design and follow-through during construction, installation, and move-in.

Karina Silva is a creator and designer. She graduated from and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture, Landscape and Interiors from Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles. Her creative curiosity and architectural adventurousness are blended with her expertise, allowing her to work on projects ranging from corporate office to mixed use and everything in between. Her work style focuses on developing a collaboration between herself and her clients that lead to smart, interesting, and well-executed interior and architectural experiences.
